Board of Directors - Fundraiser Position Open


The Center for Snake Conservation (CSC) is currently seeking a Fundraising Coordinator to serve on their Board of Directors.

About Us:

The Center for Snake Conservation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the conservation of all snakes. Our mission is to promote the conservation of snakes and their natural ecosystems and implement positive change in human attitudes towards snakes. Based in Colorado, we work globally to promote our mission.

What We Do:

The CSC is dedicated to finding solutions that are beneficial to both snakes and humans as well as secure the future of our planet’s 3000+ snake species in the midst of today’s rapid development and loss of habitats. Our approach is multi-dimensional, utilizing education to change human perceptions, supporting science to drive conservation action, focusing on local efforts to ensure the sustainability of snake conservation around the globe. We also strive to build and support effective marketing campaigns to expand conservations efforts and the support base for conservation. To maximize our conservation impact, the CSC is currently focused on four snake conservation strategies: Habitat Protection, Education, Community Action, and Citizen Science.

What You Will Do:

The CSC is currently working at expanding our reach and increasing snake conservation efforts. In order to do so, CSC is looking for a Fundraising Coordinator to join our Board of Directors (volunteer position). This person will

  • oversee and coordinate fundraising strategies;

  • support major fundraising programs and develop fundraising goals;

  • identify new potential donors and solicit funding;

  • assist in developing major gift requests; and

  • write grant proposals.

In order for this person to be successful, grant writing experience and knowledge of successful educational processes is necessary.

Commitment:

The CSC asks Board Members to commit to serving a two-year term. Expected time would be a few hours per week. In addition to attending all monthly board meetings (usually two hours long).
